Switchroom with External Air Conditioning | 20ft High Cube Shipping Container
A switchroom is a shipping container built to protect a site’s electrical gear from heat, dust and weather. On this one both split system air conditioners are mounted on external brackets along the side wall and the Personnel Access Doors were kept slim, which leaves as much internal wall free as possible for components. Insulation through the walls and ceiling helps the air conditioning hold a steadier temperature.

Container Traders joined two 40ft High Cube Shipping Containers into one storage hub, workshop and office. Removing the connecting side walls and fabricating the two together gives a far more spacious interior than a single shipping container, along with a loading bay at one end for equipment. The two shipping containers travel separately at standard width and the join is finished on site.

Container Traders was engaged to develop a solution for providing toiletry and shower services to the local sporting grounds on King Island. Built on mainland Australia then shipped to the island, this 40′ high cube shipping container ablution block ticked all the boxes.
