Reducing downtime on site
In mining, operational efficiency is paramount and downtime reduction is critical. For this project we worked closely with the client during the design and estimate phase, then built, and installed this 86-square-meter workshop production facility, providing a fully integrated solution for onsite hose fabrication and equipment maintenance.

This custom-built facility eliminates the reliance on third-party suppliers, enabling hydraulic hose repairs and maintenance to be carried out on-site, 24/7. No more waiting for contract hydraulic trucks to attend site, hoses can now be cut, crimped, and pressure-tested within minutes, significantly reducing machinery downtime and keeping operations running smoothly.
Custom built and tailored to requirements
At the core of this workshop are three 40ft High Cube containers, expertly modified to create a fully functional workspace tailored to Westrac’s specific requirements. Inside, the facility boasts 15+ metres of hose storage, secure storage solutions, and dedicated workspaces, ensuring every tool and component has its place. A custom-built hose storage unit with forklift loading capability allows for seamless material handling, while adjustable racking storage provides flexibility for future needs.
The workshop is equipped with state-of-the-art tools and workbenches, including 10 metres of BAC cabinetry, stainless steel shelving and benches, a heavy-duty trough bench, a hose crimper, a hose saw, and a Polyshot bench. A custom-built mobile hose dispenser and shadow boards for tools enhance organisation and accessibility, streamlining daily operations.


Providing a comfortable working environment
To support a safe and comfortable working environment, the facility features a kitchenette, three 7kW air conditioning units, and full insulation, ensuring optimal conditions regardless of the weather. Heavy-duty industrial vinyl flooring provides durability under heavy foot traffic, while two safe exits ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.
