What upfront costs are there when hiring?
When hiring a shipping container you will be required to cover some upfront costs. This includes the delivery and collection freight of the container and the first month’s rental fee. A credit card will be required for ongoing billing of monthly fees.
Is it possible to join two or more shipping containers side by side without them leaking?
Yes, if you understand Shipping Container tolerances, removing side wall panels to create openings and adding a seal to prevent leaks is straightforward.

What is the minimum hire period for a shipping container?
Standard shipping containers – the minimum hire period is 3 months.

Specialised shipping containers – the minimum hire period is 9 months.
Is a level surface required to place the shipping container on?
Container Traders strongly recommend placing shipping containers on a level surface to ensure the doors open easily. If the container is not level, it could place excessive weight on the hinges, making it difficult to open the doors. Additionally, we suggest elevating the container slightly off the ground, using level blocks (such as sleeper logs), to promote airflow beneath the container and ensure proper ventilation around it.
What is the price difference between a New and Used Shipping Container?
New Shipping Containers typically cost 60% to 70% more than used containers.
How are shipping containers delivered?
Containers are delivered using self-offloading trucks, with methods like Tilt Trays, Side Loaders, Flatbeds, and Hiab Cranes based on site access. We work with you to choose the best option for your location, ensuring a smooth delivery. Please inform us of any access restrictions like narrow driveways or uneven ground.
Are Container Traders containers wind and water tight?
Yes, Container Traders Shipping Containers are sold as wind and watertight quality unless specifically noted otherwise.
Can a shipping container withstand a cyclone or tornado?
As long as the Shipping Container is properly anchored and secured, it should be able to withstand a cyclone or tornado. Most of the destruction from cyclones and tornadoes occurs a few metres above the ground, so another option for those in cyclonic regions is to place the container underground for added protection.
Can I choose a delivery truck type?

Delivery typically takes place within 24 to 48 hours of payment receipt. However, delivery times may vary depending on your location.
