Custom Shipping Containers for Mining Sites
Shipping containers give mining companies a way to set up fully functional site facilities that meet regulatory requirements, and to transport materials and heavy equipment between sites. A shipping container adds the flexibility of easily relocating when the project does.
Mining shipping containers
Container Traders supplies modified, specialised and standard shipping containers to mine sites across Australia. Whether you need a turnkey site office for a remote camp or a dangerous goods container for fuel storage, we build it or stock it and deliver it directly to your site.
Mining workspaces & amenities
Shipping Container Site Offices
A containerised site office is one of the most practical investments a mining operation can make. They come insulated and climate controlled with power, data and lockable access as standard. You can go as small as a 10ft standalone office or as large as twin 40ft linked units for a full admin setup.
Shipping Container Workshops
A mine site workshop needs to be tough, dry, and set up for the work being done inside it. Our container workshops are built with workbench areas and tool storage, full electrical fit-outs, and ventilation suited to the application. Roller doors, compressed air connections and heavy-duty flooring can all be included depending on what the workshop is being used for.
Portable Lunch Rooms and Crib Rooms
Our lunch room containers come fitted with a kitchenette, bench seating, hot water and climate control. They’re designed to be low-maintenance and easy to keep hygienic, which matters when you’re feeding crews in remote conditions.
Portable Ablution Blocks
Our ablution containers are available in 10ft, 20ft and 40ft configurations. They can include toilets, urinals, showers and wash basins along with changing areas and hot water systems.
Container Shelters & Sheds
Container shelters and sheds create large covered workspaces using shipping containers as the base. An engineered steel frame and heavy-duty cover span between the containers, giving you a protected area with lockable storage on both sides. They’re up to 15 degrees cooler than working in direct sun and can be installed in two to four days.
Using side opening containers as the base gives your crew easy access to tools and gear from within the covered area. The whole structure can be dismantled and relocated when the operation moves.
Safety & compliance
Compliance is not optional in mining. Regulations cover everything from how you store hazardous substances to how you respond to medical emergencies and screen workers for alcohol. A containerised approach gives you a compliant, relocatable setup at a fraction of the cost.
First Aid Shipping Containers
Our first aid containers include a medical examination area with climate control and full electrical and plumbing fit-outs. They can be configured to meet site-specific medical requirements in 10ft, 20ft or 40ft sizes.
Dangerous Goods Shipping Containers
If your site stores fuel, chemicals, solvents or any Class 3 flammable liquids, you need a container that complies with AS1940. Our dangerous goods containers come with bunded floors for spill containment and valve taps for drainage. They’re ventilated to reduce vapour buildup and fitted with the required safety signage.
Switchroom Shipping Containers
A Switchroom Container houses the electrical distribution boards, control systems and sensitive electronics that keep a mine site running. That equipment needs to be protected from the dust and heat of daily operations as well as moisture and physical damage. A containerised switch room gives you a weatherproof enclosure with temperature control, built from heavy-gauge steel that handles all of those conditions.
Transport & rail solutions
Shipping containers transfer between road, rail and sea on a standard ISO frame without rehandling cargo. We stock a range of specialised containers built for mining transport including:
